After a short break, we continue trekking toward Soraypampa (our first campsite) where we enjoy a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, we head up to the Humantay Lake, where we admire the stunning glacier and its turquoise reflection. We then return to camp in Soraypampa for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 2: QUISWARNIYOC – SALKANTAY PASS – CHAULLAY

We wake up early to enjoy a buffet breakfast and start our journey around 07:00 a.m. Throughout the day, we witness the impressive snow-capped Salkantay Mountain and observe traditional Andean houses, farmlands, and animals such as llamas and alpacas.

We continue hiking through Salkantay Pampa and the Collpapampa valley, where we enjoy a buffet lunch. Afterward, we enter the cloud forest at around 1,750 m.a.s.l., a transition zone toward the jungle, rich in orchids, rivers, and waterfalls.

Finally, we arrive at Chaullay for a buffet dinner and overnight rest.

DAY 3: CHAULLAY – PLAYA SAHUAYACO – HIDROELÉCTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES

We start the day around 06:00 a.m. with coca tea and breakfast. Then we hike toward La Playa Sahuayaco, a journey of about 5 hours through the Santa Teresa Valley.

Along the way, we see plantations of coffee, bananas, avocados, coca, and passion fruit. From La Playa, we take local transport to Santa Teresa for lunch, then continue by vehicle to Hidroeléctrica.

From there, we walk approximately 3 hours along the train tracks to Aguas Calientes. Dinner and overnight stay in town.
